Game Times:

Morning: Beginner Teams
Afternoon: Intermediate / Advanced Teams
Exact times to be announced closer to the event date.

Number of Games:

Each team is guaranteed a minimum 3 games, regardless of wins or losses.

Games are played in a round robin knock-out format with a division winner.

Scores will be kept throughout the tournament to manage the schedule.

The focus is on participation and fun. Courts for social play games will be available as the tournament progresses. Check in at the Tournament Desk to keep the play going.

Rally Scoring:

Games are played to 25 points. Win by 2, meaning the game could go to a score higher than 25.

A point is scored after every rally, regardless of which team is serving. This version of pickleball rewards success after each point. If your team wins the rally, you win the point, no matter whether you’re serving or returning. If you win the point on your serve, you continue serving.

Only one player per team serves per side — not both like in side-out scoring. Once the serving team loses a rally, the serve goes to the other team, not to their partner.

With the honour system of substitution, it is expected that, once a player loses their serve, the serve is given to their partner once the serve is won back. I.e., no player would have two consecutive serves.

Game Time Limit:

Each game has a time limit of 20 minutes. Once the time limit is reached and no team has reached 25 points, winning by 2, the team in the lead at that moment wins the game.

Team Composition

Each team consists of four players. Two players are on the court at any time, but substitutions can be made during the game.

***Top fundraising teams will have a BONUS VIP player added to their team. Stay tuned for more information!

Player Rotation

Teams rotate players in and out after 5 points have been scored, using the honour system to ensure all four players get roughly equal playing time. Substitutions should be quick to maintain the game’s flow.
